Grass growing and Essex rain distribution.

Keith must be very happy with the way his Autumn lawn treatments have
been going. Mine hasn't had any but it is bright green and growing like
mad. With above average temperatures and lots of showery rain it is
perfect grass growing weather.
What is unusual is that I (and Keith, even further East) have had a
150mm more rainfall so far this year than places like Scott in Wanstead
and Ron in Woodford, which are just to the East of London but only about
20 miles West of me. Keith of course is near Shoeburyness which is
supposed to be one of the driest regions in the UK. Unusual stuff.

It is the first time in weeks I've been able to get out and cut the grass this afternoon. The breeze today has had a good drying effect. What was noticeable is the length it had grown and the sward was really thick and a deep green, almost like spring growth.
On the subject of the rain my AWS reads under by 33% compared with the traditional 5" gauge. I'm in the process of trying to put it right on cumulus.
