I am a long time lurker in this group and have enjoyed many a

Would some kind person like to point me towards (possibly a moderated

Tired regards,

As to forums, I can't stand the things. Why anyone would want to use

anything so slow and cumbersome baffles me. I can use one access method

to check all my mail, RSS feeds and a few dozen newsgroups. Why switch

from a simple system where I can see on a single screen whether anything

new has arrived? I've tried a few forums but most of them are a right

pain to navigate through and each one has its own annoyingly different

set of peculiarities.

Graham, you may be a little harsh on forums, well some of them!?

There's an interesting weather set-up that may develop this weekend (Sunday

into Monday). It could be a significant Autumn storm or maybe just a gusty

afternoon... Whichever it is, a forum such as UKWW provides good focussed

discussion on it without the risk of hijacking or other distraction. You

get reasoned and/or scientific analysis on a situation in a specific thread

if that's what interests you. Social banter is catered for in other threads

if that's more to your taste.

If you can follow this link, irrespective of the view of forums, this thread

posted below is a fine example of good analysis and discussion on a possible

weather event and with opportunity to learn for those, like me, who have

much to learn!!! ;-)

Come on Joe

The weather outlook? You are always at the mercy of a moderator taking a dislike to someone for personal reasons not rules and they are very much open to interpretation. Its like walking on eggshells over there.

I like Marcus he manages to say his bit and I enjoy going there for the enthusiasm during severe periods but that's it as you might upset the great MattyH
