There was an "almost live" report from Oban not long ago on Newsnight
- John Morrison. The sea behind him looked pretty wild with huge
breakers crashing over the sea wall and lots of blowing spray, the
road was flooded and some houses, too. His report reminded me of those
live reports the US TV stations often broadcast when hurricanes make
landfall!

Its really interesting cos for Oban Bay those seas were piffling

I had to stifle a laugh watching him on the BBC Scotland news at 6.30.
He seemed to be standing in the middle of the only puddle around and
the sea was *just* managing to splash over the seawall once in a
while.


Perhaps the weather has got so boring in SE England this winter that the BBC are
after *anything* of interest :-)
