This is a problem that used to be faced only by the letters editors of newspapers and magazines. Every day they would weed out the nutters, the pathological,and the green ink brigade, and tidy up those letters with bad punctuation and spelling, leaving us with a sanitised view of reality.
They needed the carapace of a tortoise. Now we are all in the same boat.
I for one, a bloke of fairly moderate views-although I am an unreformed Thatcherite!- was pretty shocked initially at the bile and spleen hurled at me for my thoughts on, e.g., nuclear power, Arthur Scargill, etc, but now realise that the way to deal with it is to realise that inoffensive folk- as 90% of us are on this site and many others-hold the moral high ground, and that offensive stuff is recognisable almost immediately.
Don't read further than the first sentence, and never, ever, dignify them with a reply.
