Your probably right, the youngsters of today brought up with central
heating, cars and mild winters really haven't a clue about cold or
snow. I can remember sucking pennies (big old ones) and sticking them
on the ice on the inside of my bedroom window to make a peep hole. I
can also remember walking to Junior School (about 3/4 mile) through
12" of snow and I think I walked to college (3miles+ as I could have
free bus pass) at least once.

I'm amazed at how few clothes some people go out in, a top that
doesn't met the bottoms and a skimpy cardigan. They do it up here as
well, though to be honest they also tend have a reasonable coat as
well.
