Default West Cornwall - A proper gale this time

Nearly up to St Jude's levels then but I suspect it will be much more
prolonged as the 70 mph gusts were only for an hour or so max.

Quietening down now, but you say it was quite long lasting.

See Sevenstones http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=62107 35kt from 11:00-18:00, swell 20' since 15:00

I particularly like this photo, it's hard to appreciate the size of waves but they make the fairly substantial breakwater look totally insigninficant. http://www.sennen-cove.com/lbtdy.htm You can just see the lifeboat slip at the left of the picture (sheltered? by the brakwater). It's lucky they didn't have to launch it through that sea.

It's a real shame the Land's End site is down.
