Could anyone direct me to suitable places to find daily rainfall figures for September 1980 for a station in (north)(west) London ? http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/media/pdf/t/3/Sep1980.pdf tells me that "during evening of 20th, band of heavy rain and thunderstorms moved northwestwards from west sussex across south midlands and Wales" and http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/climate/...rackstorm.html says 20th September 1980 tops the list of the 5 wettest days in Bracknell with 70.8mm but I don't know if the storms hit London. I ask as I am interested in the modelling behind the overflowing of my local sewage works into the Thames and the "typical" rain year used includes September 1980 : https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/reque...ncoming-451813 Version AB of the response mentions that the list of storm discharges has been updated to include storms in September 1980 and then doesn't actually list any in that month !

The rainfall in my area of East London (8 miles east of the City) on that date, as measured by staff at City of London Cemetary (E12 5DQ), shows there was 0.2mm on 20th. And 8.1mm recorded the following day. Nothing out of the ordinary
