Historic Rainfall Records - London September 1980
In article ,
writes:
Could anyone direct me to suitable places to find daily rainfall
figures for September 1980 for a station in (north)(west) London ?
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/media/pdf/t/3/Sep1980.pdf
tells me that
"during evening of 20th, band of heavy rain and thunderstorms
moved northwestwards from west sussex across south midlands
and Wales"
and
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/climate/...may2000brackst
orm.html
says 20th September 1980 tops the list of the 5 wettest days in
Bracknell with 70.8mm
but I don't know if the storms hit London.
The Hampstead weather station had its wettest day of the month on the
16th, with 10.7mm of rain. So if there was rain there on the 20th, it
can't have been that much.
