The telling thing in that paper is the relentless rise in CO2 but not the
same rise in temperature.
The only conclusion I can come to is that there is
far more to climate change than CO2 considerations which appear too
simplistic.

My understanding is that more energy has been absorbed by the oceans in recent years (partly due to El Nino etc.)

Climate change certainly is complex & little understood, which makes it even more important that we should take care what we throw into the environment.
