According to the report I heard, the hail was so bad that the players
had to shelter their eyes with their hands. Even if it wasn't unsafe
(which it sounds as though it might have been), it would have been
impossible to play proper football in those conditions. I understand
that the match soon resumed after the conditions improved, which seems
fair enough.
