1540 Postbridge 92.6mm so far today. Haytor 60+ mm in 5 inch gauge (not measured yet but emptied out as was full). Gusting 48 knots at Postbridge. 35 knots at my sheltered site in Haytor. Roads closed, trees down, never seen the moor around Haytor so wet in 11 years. Every single path going downhill is a fast flowing stream, some 2 feet deep in gullies and quite dangerous. Local river Lemon has burst its banks with over 2 feet of flood water closing the main road to Widecombe. Saw one car almost prang itself as it came to a sudden stop. Lost a bit of bumper, lucky not to get the engine hydro-locked. You said in your winter forecast that it would be flooding NOT ice that would be making the headlines this year. I SALUTE you, sir. YOU were RIGHT!!!
