Roads closed, trees down, never seen the moor around Haytor so wet in 11

years. Every single path going downhill is a fast flowing stream, some 2

feet deep in gullies and quite dangerous. Local river Lemon has burst its

banks with over 2 feet of flood water closing the main road to Widecombe.

Saw one car almost prang itself as it came to a sudden stop. Lost a bit of

bumper, lucky not to get the engine hydro-locked.

Damage widespread in Devon this morning, but no reports of anyone having been killed, as a result of the storm, yet; thank goodness. Lots of trees down and transport disruption as a result (18 trees on rail lines reported). Lots of flooding and properties damaged. Main rail line from Bristol blocked by floodwater between Taunton and Exeter *again*. Looks like a long bus ride for my daughter from Bristol. 3 panels of my fence down again and repairs needed, but the goose is definitely pretty fat down here in Dawlish (which was spared property flooding, though the Brook overflowed its banks). Off to the gym soon, so I'll see what damage has been caused on the routes over the Haldon hills.
