RMK The atmosphere's rather smelly this evening: a whiff of London?
If on a light evening (before street lights are lit) you travel a little
way up the A6 to Barton, then turn right toward Hitchin, it is possible
to look back over Luton from that hillside. On such evenings one may
observe the yellowish 'fog' which floats over the town - maybe it is
visible all the time (when daylight) but I do not know that.
It is not as bad as the similar 'fog' which hovers over St. Helens
although according to a friend of mine who lives there, St. Helens is
the most (air) polluted town in England.
