Not sure what this has o do with paranoia Col and if anything the paranoia is purely on the side of those who willingly use energy to spout their hatred of energy and the tabacco producing oil companies. The oil companies especially as they want to destroy the world .

Joking one side : these AGW's are literally nuts on most occassions and this continous pressure to link something that happens evrery winter and is now the new buzz term , like twerking is, and its called the Polar Vortex; to global warming and the rain and storms to boot is pure lies. IIRC the litlle ice age is said to have started in the British Isles and Europe at the end on the 14th Century amd was noted for its wetness with floods due to storms and incessant rain.
