The bulk of it fell on the 31st of January.

311800-0600 = 109 mm
310600-1800 = 47 mm

Rome seems to have been singled out overnight for some reason - probably because there was a lot of instability mixed up in the system and it came from an embedded thunderstorm, although having said that although I see CB's reported in the area, I don't see any thunderstorms in the past weather of the SYNOPs.
