Tideswell, Derbyshire - Thursday 13th February 2014

RMK: A much quieter fine morning. The wind here yesterday peaked
at Force 8 with a max gust of 55 kt. No doubt more exposed
places nearby had much stronger winds. The lights flickered
several times but we didn't lose the power. As far as I am
aware the village has got off largely unscathed. It wasn't
the strongest wind here this winter. On 18th Dec we had a
Force 9 S'ly with max gust of 56 kt just ahead of a cold front
in the evening.

0900z 22009KT 30km 1Cu007 +01.1/+00.4 984
RMK: Fine and sunny. Slight hoar frost in the shade. There's
still a few scraps of snow on the ground but it has mostly
all gone.

1800z 22008G25KT 30km 1Cu012 +02.8/+01.1 989
RMK: Fine with long spells of sunshine for a lot of the day
but a spell of overcast middle cloud in mid-afternoon
produced half an hour of slight sleet. Fine this evening
with a sharp breeze. Max temp 5.2
