Default 18 years since the great cold spell of january 1987. What is the lowest temp in home counties?

I had -8C and I believe that a maximum of -9.1C was recorded in

Surrey
or Sussex. Apparently this spell delivered the coldest 48 hour period

in
Britain since 1740.

I was living down in London in January 1987, and I remember it being
cold. I have vague memories of three different cold snaps that month
(two of which closed the office I was working in, the pipes burst!, two
days off on full pay was OK!). Does anyone have any temperatures for
north west London (Harlesden / Willseden area) for back then? I've
often wondered how cold it got back then.
