Scorching El Nino event could scupper England's World Cup - utter rubbish.

It may be hot in Manaus for England's first game; indeed it is likely
to
be warmer than Manchester, but it will have sod-all to do with ENSO.

El Nino will play a blinder.
Not sure who he plays for though.
Certainly not England.
Still, it will be a useful excuse for not progressing far in the
competition.

The BBC, in your link, say that an El Nino predicted with 75% certainty
fizzled out. But here they are predicting an El Nino this winter with a
certainty of 78% so perhaps that will happen.

But they are saying it will happen in the winter. El Ninos are so named
after the Boy Child who was born at Christmas. That will be long after
England have returned from Brazil, triumphant or other wise.
They are also saying that the drought in California is the worst ever
recorded - more evidence of AGW having a noticable effect.
Cheers, Alastair.
Yer big La Nina's blouse ;-)
Idiot.
