Still blowing a severe gale force 9 on the open moor. Trees on the side of the
B3387 Widecombe road are swaying alarmingly in each gust. I'm sure I've
experienced stronger winds up here but the noise outside from the trees is
deafening - so much for the peace and tranquility of Dartmoor :-) Standing
outside and watching the clouds race by a few hundred feet above my head with
the moon peeping out and the occasional burst of drizzle makes me feel very
small and humble, almost spiritual. To come inside into the sanctuary of the
house is definitely reassuring, even if the wind is roaring down the chimneys.
Max wind gust at the house (est 10m) 46 knots.
Temp. 9.3 deg C
Dewpoint 8 deg C
Rainfall today 0.3 mm
Inside temperature 18.7 deg C
Will.
