Will you deserve a large brew of Ovaltine and maybe, just maybe, a couple of
Crawfords Tartan Assaulted Shortbreads. Then take your candle and your
nightcap and making your way up to bed, cast errie dancing shadows as the
howling moaning wind finds its way through your cracks and crevasses
inspiring the flame to dance and gambol as if possessed by demonic spirits.
Mind you with health and safety such an issue nowdays switch the landing
light on.

Still blowing a severe gale force 9 on the open moor. Trees on the side of
the
B3387 Widecombe road are swaying alarmingly in each gust. I'm sure I've
experienced stronger winds up here but the noise outside from the trees is
deafening - so much for the peace and tranquility of Dartmoor :-) Standing
outside and watching the clouds race by a few hundred feet above my head
with
the moon peeping out and the occasional burst of drizzle makes me feel
very
small and humble, almost spiritual. To come inside into the sanctuary of
the
house is definitely reassuring, even if the wind is roaring down the
chimneys.
Max wind gust at the house (est 10m) 46 knots.
Temp. 9.3 deg C
Dewpoint 8 deg C
Rainfall today 0.3 mm
Inside temperature 18.7 deg C
Will.
