Default (WR) Penzance - Dry night - Another nice day.

After a maximum of 21.4C yesterday (the consistency of maximum temperature has been quite something) a slightly fresher night last night, min 15.6C

Yesterday saw good sunny periods until 15:00, when there was a little showery rain, just 0.2mm. http://www.sennen-cove.com/lbtdy.htm

Despite the weather forecasts continuing to paint Cornwall yellow for the whole of last night, and saying it would be accompanied by a blustery wind, there was no rain whatsoever and the strongest in Penzance GUST was 14mph. Just looking at the radar & imagery around 18:00 clearly demonstrated that any significant rain would fall from Devon eastwards, having passed over much of Cornwall as a weak and fragmented feature, the rain to the west had largely decayed.

The trouble caused when warnings are not updated when they should be was clearly demonstrated by people packing up on camp sites yesterday evening in order to avoid a benign night, and what looks to be a lovely summers day today. They were no doubt concerned over the 15mm which fell in this area the previous night, when there was no warning, so what would happen when there was!

Anyway, the spell of pleasant summer days continues http://www.landsendweather.info/
