So that is now two consecutive summer months with 100mm rainfall after
the 18mm so far today. A rare event indeed in these parts and no such
other occasion can I find since my rainfall records started in 2008.
There have only been five other months with 100mm in that period and
August last year had 71.5 mm in one day. There have been many months
with figures in the 90's so it is clearly a bit of a threshold.
