I recall swimming in a friend's garden pool in Calgary in
September with snow falling on us as we swam. Though the final
accumulation was not quite so deep as this.

We're in Banff at the moment. We arrived on Saturday with the temperature
in the 20s. Similarly on Sunday. Yesterday, Monday, the temperature
plummeted and on Tuesday we woke up to about 75mm of snow. More snow is
forecast for Wednesday and temperatures back in the 20s for the rest of
the week. It' s a good job we were partially prepared for cold weather!
