Still no measurable rain in Penzance since the 1st. A few spots today but absolutely nothing in the gauge.

My record dry spell is for the 27 Days ending 23 April 1997, this now is looking likely to be beaten.

I have only recorded 2 months (since Jan 1991) with less than 10mm of rain, these being:-
May 1991 - 3.0mm
June 1996 - 9.6mm

So far this Sept:-
Penzance 0.9mm on 1st
St Ives 1.3mm
Culdrose 2.0mm (to the nearest mm)
Land's End relatively wet @ 5.8mm, as it caught a shower drifting north during last weeks thundery interlude.

Drift, which serves Penzance/Newlyn is the lowest I've seen it for a few years. What a contrast to last winter.
