A very sharp clearance has just reached Penzance (10:45), in fact currently cloudless to the west http://www.landsendweather.info/ .
The fronts dropped a total of 3.4mm here, 1.0mm before 09:00, the remainder mostly between 09:00 & 10:00. It was the type of driving fine rain/drizzle that's typically associated with a strong orographic effect.
Long sunny periods since 11:00 have already lifted the temperature to 17.2C (13:45). Looks like it'll exceed the 17.3C recorded on 10th.
Maximum of 17.6C today with largely unbroken sunshine since 11:00. It really was a very sudden clearance of the driving rain, a complete transformation in the weather into a lovely afternoon.
Good example of salt spray haze again today, with resultant milky sky. VG visibility forecast, bit it certainly isn't

Looking across Mount's Bay, the visibility is around 8 miles, yesterday it must have been well 40miles, Scilly was pin sharp from 35 miles away.
Thundery showers now on the western horizon (radar wise)
