While Moscow shivered in the snow and Gonzalo battered the UK,
Spain was experiencing an autumn heatwave.

At Valencia (airport), a new October max of 35.8C was recorded.

The climate in the SE of Spain is simply the best, in my view, no wonder
so many from the UK move there of stay for many months. It is also such
a short and cheap distance to travel making even a weekend break
comparable with staying in the UK. Not that I've taken advantage enough,
living next to Southend Airport we have daily flights to Alicante,
Barcelona, Malaga, Ibiza, Majorca and others. Those temps are very
tempting :-)
