Am I right in thinking that a good continental high can give us on
the west coast cold dry settled weather??
Yes. I believe February 1947, for example, was very dry in western
Scotland.
LOL
Um, that wasn't intended to be mirth-provoking.
I was laughing at what seemed to be extreme irony ?
I thought there have been some continental highs between then and now that
have generated some dry ish conditions here in our location however hard it
is to achieve - I thought that 1947 might have been rather an extreme year
to choose
Mind you to combat the wetness of the past year -- you may be right -- even
in the last 5 days with a decent high we have only managed one 24 hour
period which I would guess might have been a precipitation free zone but
could not swear to it. The others, however beautiful in the main, have let
us down along the way
Sorry if I offended out of ignorance
