. . anything but pleasant now.
Yesterday a very attractive mackerel sky cleared to give good sunny spells with a generally F2-3 offshore wind descending off the moors. As a result the max of 11.2C was probably the warmest in the UK.
Clear skies early in the night allowed the temperature to drop sharply to 2.0C.
Rain arrived well before dawn. 6.6mm having fallen by 09:00, and the rain is currently moderate to heavy.

Just topped 10C, we are briefly back in the mild air. Also the rain's eased off and it's something resembling daylight.
Still only 6 days have failed to reach 10C this Autumn/Winter (so far) and none since 13 December. That's likely to change tomorrow!
