. . anything but pleasant now.
Yesterday a very attractive mackerel sky cleared to give good sunny spells with a generally F2-3 offshore wind descending off the moors. As a result the max of 11.2C was probably the warmest in the UK.
Clear skies early in the night allowed the temperature to drop sharply to 2.0C.
Rain arrived well before dawn. 6.6mm having fallen by 09:00, and the rain is currently moderate to heavy.
11:00 AM Sennen Swim - Lovely day for it, best weather on Christmas Day for a long time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GX-Vwby3LSo
Probably the largest number at any Christmas swim in the UK. Didn't include me.

Also had a min of 1.8c in Mylor.
Glorious on Gyllyngvase beach Falmouth in the afternoon... lots of
swimmers
Yes, I like Gyllyngvase, especially on a nice day at this time of year, it get's so busy in the summer.
It also has the advantage of facing the winter sun. Sennen Cove, all along the road to the lifeboat house, gets no sun for 6 or 7 weeks, the sun never rises above the cliff. You have to walk along the beach at low tide to get sunshine!
Very windy here now, gusting 45mph in Penzance where the wind's offshore. Recent gust of 52kt in St Ives. The low has really wound itself up, F8 out at Sevenstones.
Some nice pictures of yesterdays pleasant sunshine on Cornwall CAM
