Tideswell, Derbyshire - Sunday 4th January 2015
----------------------------------------------------------------

0900z CALM 15km 1Ci250 -03.7/-03.8 1035
RMK: Fine and sunny with a moderate hoar frost.
09-09z: Tx 3.5 (1405z) Tn -3.8 (0705z) RR 3.0
15-09z: Tg -7.0 00-24z: Sun 0.3

1600z 23002kt 20km 7Ci250 +01.4/+00.1 1034
RMK: A gorgeous day. Sunny throughout the morning and into
the start of the afternoon. Since then thickening high
cloud has gradually obscured the sun. Frost and ice persisted
all day in the shade and also in places that saw the sun only
for a relatively short time. Max temp 4.9. There's a lot of
tree damage in Tideswell Dale as a result of last weekend's
snow. A number of very substantial branches have been snapped
off and numerous lesser branches. A couple of complete trees
have come down. It looks as if the area has been hit by a
severe gale but there haven't been any notably strong winds.
I have no doubt that the weight of snow is the cause of
the damage.
