Hi all,

A number of waterspouts were observed in Crete in the previous days, at least two of which were reported to make landfall in Irakleio. The proximity to the centre of the city and the harbour this time allowed videos to be made:

Snow was plentiful especially in southeastern Attica, southern Evia, some of the Cyclades (Andros, Tinos, Mykonos) and Crete. Not much more than snowflakes in Athens.
Mykonos he http://www.iefimerida.gr/sites/defau...?itok=PYX-OcPb

Around New Year's Eve, the city of Volos in Thessaly, situated right next to the sea, saw some half a metre of snow. Most of the rest of continental Greece was quite cold (down to -19.9C in Florina with a few days of permanent frost) but with considerably less snow.

Observations of the current month so far on http://www.e-kairos.gr/currentmonth show that January has given up 125-210mm of precipitation in Crete so far, much less in other regions (automatic data renewals daily for the current month).

All the best,
Yannis, NW London.

"Greece has go our snow!!!!!" How often have I heard that in the past! *))

Thanks Yannis.
