Went out for our regular Tuesday pub walk to a high altitude pub (Warren
House Inn at 400 metres asl), circa 9 miles.
Sleet and snow at the car park this morning which turned to rain below 250
metres but then we climbed and passed the patchy snow line at 350 metres and
then it was continuous moderate sticky snow with temperature 0C to +1C and
visibility around 300 metres. Dried out in the pub and by 1400 the sun was
coming out and could still see a reasonable snow cover on the high moor
above 500 metres.
Rain, sleet and snow here in Haytor where the temperature is now at 1600
+5C.
A lovely winter's walk, if a little wet.
