Take care clearing your driveways.
Will
We tend not to clear anything around here these days, ever since one
neighbour made a complete pig's ear of it. She went out and shovelled up
the snow off her path and the public path outside her house. So far so
good, but once she'd done that she went indoors and came out with a
bucket of hot water and threw it along the bit she's cleared, and then
swept the resulting mush off to the side. Temperature at the time was
about -4C, so you can imagine the trouble that ensued.
I suppose I ought to add that she is an African immigrant, so probably
didn't know any better. The East Europeans that live around here just
don't bother, but spend a couple of minutes walking up and down
compacting the whole lot. Much better in my opinion. At least they clear
off all the snow from their cars before driving off. She just lets the
wipers clear what they can, and drives off half blind.
That should get her a Darwin.
I wonder how much it costs to replace a wiper motor.
About a 100 if you need the other thing as well (that connects the motor
to the wiper arms ... it has a name).
I needed both a year or so ago for reasons unrelated to the weather.
