RMK: Snow showers have continued through the night.
There's 7 cm of lying snow. Two single 'flash/bang'
thunderstorms yesterday evening around 2220z and 2315z.
0900z 20009kt 3000 -SN 3St004 7Sc012 +00.1/-00.1 981
RMK: Continuous snow, occasionally mod/hvy with vis
briefly down to about 150m. 10 cm lying snow. With much
less wind than yesterday there's very little drifting but,
nevertheless, this is building up to be a significant event.
As I type this at 0915z the vis is down to 100m. We haven't
had a visit from the snowplough yet so there's only
the occasional 4WD vehicle on the road.

RMK: Looks like the event has ended, or at least this phase
of it. Continuous mod/hvy snow for much of the morning
finally died out in the past half hour. There's 23 cm of lying
snow. It's unusual to get such a heavy fall here with very
little drifting. It may not be the end of it. There's some
very nasty-looking stuff over the NW half of Ireland and off
the west of Scotland that's heading down this way. Perhaps
another bash tonight? Looks like a minor cold front went
through about 0910z. There was a temporary pressure kick
and a wind veer and half-degree temperature fall.
1600z 30010kt 15km 2Cu007 3Ci250 -00.6/-01.0 975 RE-SHSN
RMK: Dry for the first part of the afternoon but since
1400z there's been occasional slight showers of snow and
soft hail. 23 cm of lying snow. With the wind freshening
a little the lying snow is starting to drift a bit.
Max temp +0.2
