Mixed sunshine and cloud, 14°, light breeze.

I was working yesterday so couldn't post the weather but it was
mostly foggy anyway so probably on the cool side.

It shouldn't be a foggy spell but that is generally the case with an
increase in vorticity in the tropical seas. This spell is based
mainly on the time of the moon being about 1 pm. That is a wet
weather call generally but for some reason the presence of extremes
in the tropics seems to move the clock somewhat.

I have never worked out what, why or how. But it is a universal
switch. Maybe it has something to do with the other ephemerides but
those would all affect the moon before reaching the earth. I suppose
that is a mystery for astro-physicists not yet conditioned by the
dark ages.

It only lasted the day - has been known to last three or four weeks.
An image has belatedly been uploaded for you:

We've only got an A4 scanner so it's that much of the map from the top
right corner of the page. If you want other views, let me know and I'll
do my best.

Points to note (north to south)

The football stadium marked as 'Belmoor Stadium' is really called
'Balmoor Stadium' and is situated off Balmoor Road.

The 'HM Prison' shown is Peterhead Prison which was the national centre
for rapists and child molesters. It no long exists but HMP Grampian
(which replaced PD and AB prisons) was built on the same site.

'RAF Buchan' closed down some years ago. The site is now a mish-mash of
an assortment of enterprises, including an hotel, nursery (for children
not plants), and sundry businesses.

I hope it is of some use to you.

There will be gas and perhaps oil in the centre of that circle called Peterhead bay. So I am assuming a massive limestone shelf (I admit that is fairly obvious being so close to Aberdeen. But I only considered that afterwards..)

I should be right in assuming the topography continues with circular hills inland?
A semicircle of sorts, thus resembling conditions in the stretch north of the Denbigh Moors.
