Nothing special here Will.

Max here today was an amazing +23.0C (Upvc internal black-slatted Stevenson
screen) . Not bad for 1000 feet up in April!

Midlands today tell us it was only 12.0c up the road in Leek today

......and a little bit further up the road the max in Tideswell today was
11.7c. By 4:30 p.m. it was down to 8.8c with drizzle and a decidedly raw breeze.

Max here was 24.5°C, probably not as remarkable as Will's 23.0 but not bad for April.
I noted during the day that the Lancashire coast had temperatures of 9-10° but no mention of this striking contrast was made in the 0030 R4 forecast. It was a chaotic and pointless broadcast, all over in less than two minutes. Either the presenters have no feel for the weather (that's certainly true of some of them) or they are not given enough time to express it. No pressure of scheduling at 0030, so no excuse. We are treated like bubbleheads.
