I agree, radio forecasts need time which they don't get, and there comes a point (3 minutes I would say) when it becomes completely pointless. I bet all the forecasters that have to do the forecast at the end of the PM programming are trembling in fear to find that Eddy Mair has left just 30 seconds!

I'd say as a regular listener that the forecasters know beforehand exactly how long they've got because they finish their spiel on the dot. Today it was about 1 min 20 secs with Tomas Schaffernaker and was worse than pointless. Geographically chaotic waffle, climatological ranges (so it seems) rather than forecasts. One waited for the nitty-gritty but it didn't come.. He spent the first half-minute of his precious allowance burbling on about how nice it had been. The things I bellowed at the radio are not printable.

I could say a lot more but this is one of my rants so I'll stop there.
