What about Strathallan just to the south of Perth?

I think that part of Scotland does rather well for SYNOP stations when compared to areas such as South Yorkshire (population alone 1.34 million) and Derbyshire and north Nottinghamshire where there are no reporting stations at all, and its been like that since RAF Finningley closed many years ago.

I know what you mean about representative stations, here in the SW of England we always get lumped in with Plymouth most of the time as representative for the whole peninsula which is often not the case.
