Maybe it's that air conditioner you secretly had fitted last week had something to do with it?!

Off course everyone can't be in on a conspiracy but I have to say subjectively if doesn't feel that overbearing unlike some. Past heatwaves I mean

33.8°C in my back-garden Stevenson Screen says it's hot, whatever you feel like. Are you saying the figures are fiddled? That's quite an accusation and you'd better have some pretty powerful evidence to prove it.

Lawrence was moaning about the hype surrounding this heatwave a few days ago, always an unwise thing to do prior to the event. Anyhow, as things turned out we have just had the hottest July day on record (on the 1st as well) and the third hottest day *ever*. A truly sensational day and most certainly deserving of some 'hype'.
Unfortunately the only place Lawrence can go on this one is to not properly believe it and imply that the readings are some how in question.

It's all that is left to science deniers when things don't go their way (which, of course, is almost always, as the are denying science which is extremely well accepted and highly likely to be correct). They resort to some ridiculous conspiracy theory that the data can't possibly be correct, as the people collating it have a vested interest in showing what the denier doesn't want to happen.

It so stupid, it is crazy.
