Rain just setting in with big drops at 0930. Turning quite dark
outside.
T 15.9 DP 15C.
The overnight storms over France now seem to be heading eastwards and
are very unlikely to affect the UK.
Lightning seen in the area. 2.2mm rain so far by 0955. Rain area is
moving very quickly though, rain welcome for the garden and moorland
ponds.

15.2mm rain now and it is still absolutely hammering down. Wonderful
stuff!
T 13.9C/13 .

Coming down at a rate of 50mm/h now.
18mm now and rising fast.
LOL my AWS says it is "raining cats and dogs". Dunno about that :-)

Rain easing back now. 19.2 mm. Lane is one big river outside with water
pouring off the moor. Gutters and water butts overflowing.

The wee bit of rain this morning has now totally dried up. The lane is bone
dry and the moor has soaked it all up, very few puddles remain, as if it
never happened. But what an afternoon!
Long sunny spells and warm again with the temperature rocketing up from 13C
at 14:00 local to 19C now, and it is still rising. The visibility is superb,
the distant sea horizon from 1000 feet up is as sharp as a mother-in-law's
tongue. You'd think that you could touch the distant hills, vis must be at
least 60Km. This Atlantic air is gorgeous, far better than the sticky, very
murky continental crud of yesterday.
