A fresher day today with a moderate WSW breeze. Maximum of 19.7C in Penzance.

Plenty of small Cu development from 1 mile inland, but on windward coasts it was glorious, which is where I headed. Strong prolonged sunshine. Zennor around noon http://www.easterling.freeserve.co.uk/zennor.html

Windward coasts are the place to be in Spring/Summer for sunshine. It's such a shame sunshine isn't recorded right on the coast from St Ives around to Porthcurno, it's so much sunnier the a few hundred yards inland.

Take a look at the 2 pictures from Sennen today, http://www.sennen-cove.com/index.htm blue looking west from the north facing harbour beach (frontal cloud in the distance, as there has been all day)turn the camera around, there are the Cu.

Helped by the SST being 16-17C, the warmest spots in west Cornwall were on the sunny windward coast, so 20.6C on the Island St Ives, despite the brisk wind in that location. 20C at St Mary's airport, 22C at the more sheltered ST. Martin's site.

A bit of a feature over several recent days, when there's been significant cloud build up just inland.

Still waiting for the Gwithian Weather station. kite surfers still out at 20:40 http://www.sunset-surf.com/surf-webcam

Nice evening in Penzance, the wind has died right down now.
