The thing to remember is to ensure that your PC is up to date with all its
patches and that it doesn't have any issues. Many problems have been
caused because the user hoped that upgrading will fix them. Will's advice
about sfc/scannow - do it first.

There is a possibility that the upgrade will fail. However, there is an

if needed. And backup first!

Yep good advice, I forgot I installed several hours worth of updates for 8.1
before upgrading.
