There's been concern expressed that Windows 10 sends an awful lot of
info back to Microsoft about what the user is doing, perhaps to allow
adverts to be targeted more precisely (apparently even Solitaire
comes with adverts in Windows 10). Some of this info-sending can be
switched off, apparently, but some can't.
Seeing as how I only use MS very occasionally, that won't worry me
much.
I wonder how accurate their targeting will be? If it's like Amazon, the
answer will be "not very". According to the targeted mail I get from
them, they must think I'm a 12-year-old girl who, amongst other things,
owns, drives and maintains a Peugot 205; is a body-builder, and is
interested in male facial grooming products.
