I am running Windows 8 and using several usb to serial adapters. I've
just checked in Device Manager and the following drivers are loaded:
Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (COM1 & COM5)
Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART (COM3)
You can get the Silicon Labs latest driver from here (which I think you
will need for the Davis AWS to work):

And the Prolific drivers from he
http://www.prolific.com.tw/US/ShowPr...id=225&pcid=41
===========================
The Prolific drivers will be for the old 8434 Davis serial-to-USB adapter
(or some other adapter that also uses the Prolific chipset) and, to the best
of my knowledge, aren't compatible with modern versions of Windows such as 8
and 10.
The SiLabs one will be for the Davis USB logger, which Keith will not have
for a WMII.
Only solution that I know offhand is to get a new serial to USB adapter that
does definitely have a Win10 compatible driver, preferably an FTDI chipset
one - they seem to keep their drivers more up-to-date than any other chip
designer. If you get stuck then we do sell an FTDI one - it's not the
cheapest but it does definitely seem to be compatible.
