Currently a great view of the clearance on Scilly http://www.scillyman..co.uk/Lowertown_Cam.html
Sun now visibly through the veil of high cloud in Penzance - with blue sky in the distance.
Sun - that'll make a change after yesterday, mist/rain/drizzle and darkness.

It's moving quickly - now crossing Land's End http://www.landsendweather.info/
A particularly cool August day here yesterday - just the cold side of the rain. A max of only 17.8C. I think this is one of the places where the forecast 'much fresher' will not be the case. I think it's a fair bet it'll be warmer, especially given the lack of cloud to the west. (Another standard summer 2015 "Cu inland sunnier on the coast" day coming up.)
Just cleared in time for the Penzance to Gear Pole swim at 10:30 http://www.swimforlogan.co.uk/

The complete opposite to the last few days here. Unfortunately, yet
again, it seems my daughter and her family are in for another poor week
coming up in Dorset next week. Seems to happen whenever we go down
there. :-(

Yes, doesn't look good does it.
A bit of a cracker today, deep blue skies, excellent visibility, temperature up on yesterday as well. A real change from the recent murk. You could see the lighthouse on Round Island (Scilly) quite clearly from Cape Cornwall, that's 30 miles distant. Also the cliffs are ablaze with colour at the moment.
