Hi, All,
Bit of a shock with this flow off the North Sea - rarely good news in Teesdale and it looks set for a while yet. Lots of cloud, light rain and low max temperatures.
Our sunny August is now but a distant memory (:0(

Coolish but dry (hoorah!) with a fair bit of sun down here the last 4 days.
At Bosullow, 4 miles NW of Penzance on the moors
31st August 10.8 hours of sun
1st September 10.7 hours
2nd September 7.6 hours (more on the coast

Sunny periods again today. The thin Sc off the north coast readily dissipating to sunshine on the south coast. Back to T Shirts at the Minack.

Temperature approx 16.5C now, which is cool but not many places in the UK are currently any warmer. Near 14C on exposed north coast clifftops. (The advantage of having nearby coasts facing in all directions.)
Virtually no swell now with that high stuck in mid Atlantic, and little hope until Monday/Tuesday as the high slips more over the UK and there's a low in Atlantic once more. In fact the chart for Tuesday looks ideal for us fair weather people, light warmer offshore SE winds and a long period wave ( see the period chart for Tues/Weds
http://magicseaweed.com/UK-Ireland-M...hartType=PERPW ). Now the schools are back it's possible to catch a wave without the fear of decapitating a small child on the way in, something health & safety really don't like. Also, it's now possible to park at Sennen, something that's been virtually impossible since mid July - even on the bleaker days.
I like the big seasonal nature of life in Cornwall, but after August it's always good to have the old place back.
