Default February snowfall statistics

Although the frequency of snow in lowland Surrey has fallen sharply since
1988, February is still the snowiest month - ( but looking at the runs this
morning makes me wonder whether we will get any this year ).
Since 1970, 9 February has been the snowiest day of the year in Surrey with
9 occasions out of 36 years. The frequency remains relatively high between
the 8th and 14th ( at least 5out of 36) and there is a further peak at the
end of the month : 8 occasions on the 25th and 6 on the 28th.
The average number of snow days in February (1970 - 2004) is 3.74 and from
1988 -2004 it is 2.94.
