My 13.3 mm recorded in West Fareham is consistent with your map for
the period shown. My Davis was a bit low at 11.8 mm.
If the UKMO released 5 minute data the estimates would be even better. I
can never understand why they don't show accumulations graphics in the
forecast in high rainfall events.
Because they would scare the **** out of everybody. Sometimes the model goes
way OTT. As for 5 minute radar data, too much money would be lost if they
gave them away. Anyway 5 minute data are old hat, what you want are the 1
minute single site data which have been available internally for years.
