Looking forward immensely to next weekend with snow
showers and frosts, even better when the forecast starts emphasising
how much of a shock it will be. The real shock though is how
ridiculously mild it has been so far this month.

Was about to start a thread when saw this. My first thought was "shock
to the system"! Not sure whether the global models are good enough yet
to pick up/develop polar low detail but I wonder whether there might be
anything in there to surprise. EC midday has a nice bracing northerly
worthy of a good coastal walk down in Whitstable.

Unlikely detail at this stage but GFS keen to accumulate some snow in
the south/south-west: http://expert-
