We had what could be best described as a sleetstorm around 8am here in
Cranleigh, Surrey. At its heaviest it was almost "proper" snow, before
easing off and turning back to mostly rain. About two miles to the north
is Pitch Hill, which rises to over 800ft, so I imagine that there must
be at least a couple of centimetres of lying snow up there.

Similar here but rather more proper snow and a just-about cover but soon gone.
